The Scientific Mechanism behind the phenomena of erections:

Inadequate blood flow:
The activation of the nervous system or stimulation in the brain that causes an erection occurs due to some external factors like sound, smell, vision, dreams, thoughts etc. When this stimulation occurs the blood flow to the penis increases and the vascular muscle in the spongy area of corpora cavernosa fills up with blood and outflow of blood is cut off to maintain an erection.

However, when there is insufficient blood supply to the penile area, the erection does not occur. There are networks of nerve cells known as alpha- 2 adrenergic which limit the amount of blood entering the penis, otherwise men will experience erection throughout the day. During an erection, the action of alpha-2 adrenergic is stopped, thus the blood flows into the penis. Men suffer from erectile dysfunction if there is insufficient blood flow to the penis. Even after a signal from the brain if there is not much blood flow to the penis, then the erection subsides or there may be a weak erection or no erection at all.

Nitric Oxide Deficiency:
Nitric oxide plays an important role of pressurizing the blood to sustain an erection. When the brain gets aroused, it sends a signal to the penis. Nerve cells in the corpora cavernosa region of the penis, start producing nitric oxide, which leads to the creation of cGMP. cGMP causes arteries in the corpora cavernosa to dilate, leading to lots of blood to flow into the penis. The extra blood flowing in causes the penis to inflate like a balloon. This results in an erection.

When men suffer from erectile dysfunction the nerves in the penis produce nitric oxide but the amount of cGMP created is very less so it becomes difficult for the arteries to dilate and allow the blood.

Irregular neurological function:
There can be several reasons for erectile dysfunction but the main factor which helps in gaining and maintaining an erection is the body’s nervous system. The decrease in neural and autonomic functioning leads to erectile dysfunction.

There are neurotransmitters in the brain which set a series of responses in the brain that make an erection possible. A disturbance in their functioning can disrupt the whole erection mechanism.

Penile Implant Surgery to Treat Erectile Dysfunction!!

Most of the people often consider surgery as the best way to get rid of erectile dysfunction because it gives fast and quick results. One of the most practiced surgeries to cure erectile dysfunction is penile implant surgery.

Penile Implants: During this surgery, doctor implants the malleable or inflatable rods or tubes into the penis.

Semi-rigid penile prosthesis: - In this case a silicon covered flexible metal rod is inserted to provide the rigidity required for intercourse and can be curved to some extent for concealment.

• It is the simplest surgical procedure of all the prostheses

• Disadvantage: Sometime concealment may be difficult with certain types of clothing.

Inflatable penile prosthesis: - It involves insertion of a small pump in the scrotum, a small reservoir in the abdomen and two soft silicone or bioflex tubes in the penis. In order to produce an erection, a man pumps sterile liquid from the reservoir into the tubes by pressing the pump into the scrotum. Here tubes act as erectile tissue and enlarge to form an erection.

• It is slightly bit complicated than semi-rigid penile prosthesis.

• Disadvantage: It involves insertion of more mechanical parts and thus a higher chance for mechanical failure

Another form of penile implant is a self-contained inflatable prosthesis. It involves insertion of a pair of inflatable tubes in the penis with a pump connected to the end of the implant. In the shaft of penis, reservoir is located.

Furthermore, apart from penile implant other surgical methods are also available to cure erectile dysfunction like Vascular Reconstructive Surgery, Venous ligation.

Cure Impotence:

Natural cures for Impotence:
Natural and herbal cures provide far more benefits than synthetic treatments. They are mostly side effects and drug free and they do not disturb the general chemical balance of the body. Natural herbal sex pills, capsules or tablets are designed to relax the muscles around the penis to allow a free flow of blood to the penis. So, not only do they benefit in one way but in many ways like a fuller, thicker, and longer erection, along with the ability to restore and increase energy, vitality, libido, and testosterone levels, and provide a wonderful sense of well-being.

Oral Medications:
oral medications such as Viagra, Cialis or Levitra works by enhancing the effects of chemicals responsible for relaxing the penis muscles, which results in natural increase of blood flow to the penis causing an erection. However, there are always certain side effects and incompatibilities with these medications so you should always consult with your doctor before taking these drugs.

Penile injections:
A penile injection is done by injecting alprostadil into the base or side of your penis or by using a special disposable applicator to insert it into the tip of your penis. There are various side effects to this method that include pain, minor bleeding, or formation of fibrous tissues besides sky high prices.

Vacuum Devices:
Vacuum devices are also used for enhancing erections. In this method, the penis is inserted into a plastic tube with a pump attached to it. The pump then sucks out the air and creates a vacuum that draws blood into the penis, causing it to become inflated. Once the penis is erect the tube is removed and a soft rubber ring is placed around the base of the penis to trap blood and sustain the erection.

Vascular Surgery:
It is usually very hard to find a surgeon performing this procedure since it is still considered experimental. The side effects can be fatal too including a nerve damage and creation of scar tissue.

VigaPlus – Natural Viagra:
VigaPlus is a natural cure for impotence made with potent herbal ingredients that targets Ed effectively. It is side effect free working on the same principle as Viagra. For more details – visit its website – www.vigaplus.com
