Penile Implant Surgery to Treat Erectile Dysfunction!!

Most of the people often consider surgery as the best way to get rid of erectile dysfunction because it gives fast and quick results. One of the most practiced surgeries to cure erectile dysfunction is penile implant surgery.

Penile Implants: During this surgery, doctor implants the malleable or inflatable rods or tubes into the penis.

Semi-rigid penile prosthesis: - In this case a silicon covered flexible metal rod is inserted to provide the rigidity required for intercourse and can be curved to some extent for concealment.

• It is the simplest surgical procedure of all the prostheses

• Disadvantage: Sometime concealment may be difficult with certain types of clothing.

Inflatable penile prosthesis: - It involves insertion of a small pump in the scrotum, a small reservoir in the abdomen and two soft silicone or bioflex tubes in the penis. In order to produce an erection, a man pumps sterile liquid from the reservoir into the tubes by pressing the pump into the scrotum. Here tubes act as erectile tissue and enlarge to form an erection.

• It is slightly bit complicated than semi-rigid penile prosthesis.

• Disadvantage: It involves insertion of more mechanical parts and thus a higher chance for mechanical failure

Another form of penile implant is a self-contained inflatable prosthesis. It involves insertion of a pair of inflatable tubes in the penis with a pump connected to the end of the implant. In the shaft of penis, reservoir is located.

Furthermore, apart from penile implant other surgical methods are also available to cure erectile dysfunction like Vascular Reconstructive Surgery, Venous ligation.

  1. I was reading your blog and I saw many comments about viagra and other generic drugs and anyone talked about Generic Sildenafil Citrate pill. I used to buy this one as treatment without prescription online. And it saved my sexual life and my marriage too.

  2. Erectile Dysfunction is quite a common problem among men. Penile Implants seems to be the last option for this. Many resort to penile implant surgeries. These implants are inflatable in nature. It has been observed that almost 1 in ten implants would break in the initial 5 years. Yet, this is still popular for those not responding to medications. For kore details on it, refer Penile implants

  3. A penile prosthesis is another treatment option for men with erectile dysfunction, as is also Generic Viagra. The simplest type of prosthesis consists of a pair of malleable rods surgically implanted within the erection chambers of the penis. Today, many men choose a hydraulic, inflatable prosthesis, which allows a man to have an erection whenever you choose.

A penile implant is usually used when there is a clear medical cause for erectile dysfunction and when the problem will not resolve or improve naturally or with other medical treatments. Sometimes a penile prosthesis is implanted during surgery to reconstruct the penis when scarring has caused erections to curve.

    How does penile prosthesis?

The inflatable penile prosthesis consists of two cylinders - a reservoir and a pump - that is surgically placed in the body. The two cylinders are inserted into the penis and connected by pipes to a reservoir of liquid separately. The reservoir is implanted under the groin muscles. A pump is connected to the system and sits under the loose skin of the scrotum between the testicles.
